Vibe Hotel

Located in the Sydney CBD, The Vibe Hotel is a 16 storey New York themed 4.5 star hotel with 145 hotel rooms, a ground floor restaurant and bar area adjacent the hotel lobby. The hotel facilities include a swimming pool, a gymnasium and a rooftop licensed bar area.
The works included temporary structural support of the adjoining commercial building and detailed demolition brick-by-brick to execute restoration of the heritage items. Icon was required to ensure that the archaeological site was excavated under specialised management and supervision to ensure that significant evidence was not unnecessarily lost. The excavation of the lower ground and service tanks required careful and meticulous planning and site validation of the excavation and removal of the contaminated land fill.
Traffic Management and Pedestrian Management solutions approved by the Sydney City Council minimised the impact on Sussex Street and Icon provided a seamless public interface creating clear and safe walkways for pedestrians throughout the delivery of high end landscaping and the public domain works.
