National Broadband Network Aggregation Node Depot

The NBN Aggregation Node Depot provides a Point of Interconnect for wholesale and retail network service providers to deliver high-speed broadband network to a range of locations.
The project construction works included a two-story office building including amenities, administration space and breakout areas, loading dock and technical plant area, incoming fibre pit and conduit infrastructure, external perimeter access roads, pedestrian pathways, car park and landscaping and facility support services including high voltage substations, generators, fuel tanks and load banks.
Icon proposed a number of design changes to add value and avoid project delays. Some of these include omitting sub-floor walls that may have created moisture and maintenance issues, and staging infrastructure works to mitigate delays caused by easement clashes.
